This is an unmanaged switch so we do not get a management interface to show. We also do not get that port isolation feature via a hardware switch that we have seen on a number of similar switches at this point.

In terms of performance, this switch seems like the others that we have tested at this point.

There is nothing special with the performance here and the performance is almost identical to the Mokerlink.

YuLinca 2G06110GS Power Consumption and Noise

The switch comes with a 12V 1A power adapter. This is one of the lower-power external power supplies we have seen. It also looks the same as the Mokerlink.

Idle power is 1.0W, which is normal for a switch like this, but very low in absolute terms.

Plugging in a 2.5GbE port added around 0.3W to bring us to 1.3W. That is much lower than the Mokerlink which was really surprising. We tested the two units back-to-back, and although the power supplies look identical, we could replicate 2W with the PSU from the Mokerlink.

Adding a 10Gbase-T to SFP+ adapter instead got us to 2.6W. This is only 0.3W higher than the Mokerlink, so it seems reasonable.

While we somewhat expected low power consumption, perhaps the big takeaway is that these power adapters can have a decent amount of variation, even if they look the same.

Final Words

Since we purchased this switch a few months ago, the price has gone up and down. At $50 it is relatively inexpensive. At that price, there is also a lot of competition from the cheap 8-port 2.5GbE and 1-port SFP+ switches like the Real HD SW8-1-2G. The MokerLink 2G05110GS version of this switch can also be less expensive depending on the day. We probably would choose between those two based on price.

Overall, this switch worked as we would expect, but it it crowded. As a result, we have our Ultimate Buyers Guide to help you make a decision on these.

Where to Buy

We purchased our unit on Amazon. Here is the affiliate link for this model.

You may have seen that we published the Ultimate Cheap Fanless 2.5GbE Switch Buyer’s Guide. Here is the video for that one:

You can see more switches in this class in that video and we are keeping the link above updated with the switches we review which now numbers around 40 and will be over 60 in the next few weeks.

  1. STH is really going down. Reviewing the same switches over and over again. Like it was a great thing. The same chip everytime.

    When will this be over?

  2. That is somewhat the idea. We wanted to let folks see inside of these things and know which is which. We are going to add a new category in the next round-up this month, but after this we know that the MokerLink and this are effectively the same so people can price shop from there. We can see how these are different from others as well. Building a huge set of these is pretty useful.

  3. I’ve been eyeing the MokerLink 24×2.5g/6x10g managed switch. Hope you’ll check out some other bigger switches soon. Arguably most people probably don’t need that many ports at home, but it’d be perfect for my little 4 node ceph/k8s/hyper-converged homelab with a couple extra Radxa Rock 5b nodes.

  4. Iggy – I think we have a bigger switch that is very similar to that. Rohit and I need to get this round-up done and then move on to the bigger segments. I think we might even add a Cisco switch or two.

  5. Have you considered presenting the data from all of these switch reviews in a tabular format?

The current roll-up review is still just a giant list which make it difficult to see what information is different between the switches.

  6. I grabbed an 8 port all 10G managed switch for < twice the price of these unmanaged 2.5G switches a few months back. It makes one wonder why the roundup is even relevant at this point. A comparison of a couple of those and what they offer/how they perform would be useful though, as well as a couple bigger switches as mentioned.

  7. Do any of these have PoE? I need a cheapo switch with 2.5G and PoE, with a 10G uplink (SFP+ or Base-T). Does such a thing exist yet?
