Ahead of the anticipated announcement from Intel scheduled for September 8, 2014, Supermicro has released details of its new motherboards on its website. The Intel Xeon E5-2600 V1 and V2 motherboards were part of Supermicro’s X9 series. Supermicro’s website lists the new X10 series motherboards as supporting the LGA2011-R3 processor for Haswell-EP based Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3 processors.
Expect much more coverage of the launch tomorrow. We have been working for the last month with the new Intel Xeon E5-2600 V3 platforms and they are going to be absolute game changers. For now, here are the Supermicro dual socket X10 offerings:

Hotter than the sun. That stuff is totally wow man.
Please tell me you are gonna test some twins this gen.
Don’t waste time with boring boards. I wanna see hot rods reviewed
I really hope they come out with 10GbE-BaseT for the single processor E5-1600v3 … I don’t see any listed above :( wtf.
No IPMI on ATX/EATX boards?
The X10DRL-i has IPMI but no E-ATX boards as far as i can see. Only EE-ATX, ATX and proprietary. And looks like they have dropped the -F on the end to indicated IPMI on dual socket boards.
The Supermicro X10SRL-F has IPMI and is an ATX-motherboard. The only downside to the board is that uses a Narrow-ILM socket, so you’ll need to carefully choose your heatsink or waterblock.
I do wish we would see 10gbE on the single-socket boards :/ I guess I can kind of understand Supermicro not wanting to sacrifice any of the 40 PCIe lanes for it though.
I want to build a super-quiet and small living room processing server. It needs to support 64GB for occasional tasks, but otherwise just needs to quietly run a few VMs and power a 4k monitor (some NVidia 970s have a passive/active mode which seems ideal). It also needs USB 3, and at least one PCIE 4X slot in addition to the video card. I was interested in Avoton but the boards don’t seem to support the right combination. I’d prefer to run with ECC though don’t want the cost of DDR4. I’ve not seen anything exactly right. Any ideas? thanks.
