Later today, I have a quick spot at Netreo NUGGET 2022. The topic is going to again be server trends in the next 0-18 months. This is the first of two talks that will be at other shows this month. I also have a session on Arm CPUs and NVIDIA GPUs in a Gigabyte server at NVIDIA GTC 2022 Fall next week. This is the talk that the AMD and Intel 2P Server Core Count Growth 2010-2022 piece came from.
Patrick at Netreo NUGGET 2022 Today
Netreo is a company that does full-stack monitoring and AIOps. The company’s CEO, Jasmin Young, is a former colleague at PwC. As directors in the consulting practice, Jasmin and I worked on a number of clients and projects together, and she was one of my favorite folks to work with at the firm. She and her husband recently moved to Austin, and I got the ask to present again.
If you saw the Presenting at Netreo NUGGET 2021 piece, you may have seen that a number of the topics covered in those 2022-2025 predictions have already happened or are about to. My 2020 talk was largely similar to some of the topics found in pieces like The 2021 Intel Ice Pickle How 2021 Will be Crunch Time.
Every year I am making it a habit to re-review the prior year’s slide deck to see how close predictions have come to reality and the success rate on these talks is very high. Part of that is that the talks are geared toward an audience not focused on hardware in their day-to-day jobs.
