Lenovo ThinkPad P72 Mobile Workstation System Benchmarks
We have a number of system-level benchmarks that we run through. We wanted to give some sense of where the Lenovo ThinkPad P72 falls.
Passmark
Passmark is a common workstation benchmark suite. Here we are simply going to present the result:
Overall, one can see a slight improvement over the Core i7-based ThinkPad P52 we reviewed.
SPECworkstation 3
SPECworkstation3 measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL and Direct X application programming interfaces.
Again, we are seeing the massive improvements from a higher-end GPU configured. Depending on your workload, a GPU upgrade may be the biggest bang for the buck upgrade around.
SPECviewperf 13
SPECviewperf 13 measures the 3D graphics performance of systems running under the OpenGL and Direct X application programming interfaces.
In the SPEC related benchmarks, we see the Lenovo ThinkPad P72 outclasses the ThinkPad P52 by a large margin.
Next, we will test the rendering performance of the Lenovo ThinkPad P72 mobile workstation.
> If you are […] an accountant, or someone pushing IP numbers and inventory numbers all day as an admin, the num pad is a welcome addition.
Absolutely. With accountants and other number pushers being the target customer base for such a mobile a̶c̶c̶o̶u̶n̶t̶i̶n̶g̶workstation, a number pad is a must. Without a number pad, what would an accountant do with such a machine? Excel woudn’t be really usable without a number pad, no?
Where did you fine a P72 with a touchscreen — not on lenovo.com?
