For those that have been following in the forums, the Intel Xeon E5-2600 V2 series has been available for about a week now online. This is no surprise as Intel has a regular practice of selling chips to large customers well before their release date. Every year, we are able to purchase the new Intel Xeon E3 lineup prior to its official debut. It should be no surprise then that the Intel Xeon E5-2600 V2 series is already for sale online. STH forum members have already been actively purchasing the chips. Intel will release the chips at IDC in San Francisco, but between the Apple Mac Pro and various other sources, we know what to expect. The big story at this point is that the chips have been available since September 1.
