Intel has announced that the Granite Rapids-SP platform, or the Intel Xeon 6700P is coming many times over the past year. This is Intel’s mainstream Xeon platform. Today, there are a ton of listings online for the new processors if you look at etailers and even Intel’s public documents. We have the popular Mouser Electronics listing for one in the cover image. So while we do not have the full “official” lineup, we know at least many of the SKUs that are out.
Intel Xeon 6700P Granite Rapids-SP Breaks Cover All Over
As a quick reminder, Intel Xeon 6 has the Sierra Forest-SP E-core part, and the Sierra Forest-AP non-public line that we covered in our Substack. In addition, there is the P-core based Granite Rapdis-SP and Granite Rapids-AP lines. An easy way to remember it is the P or E at the end of the model is which core is in a processor and the second digit 6700 or 6900 tells us -SP and 8-channel memory or -AP and 12-channel memory.

With Granite Rapids, Intel has a number of different designs spanning different configurations of core tiles.

As we can see, the Intel Xeon 6900P family, codenamed “Granite Rapids-AP” makes an appearance in the online listings. These parts are in the high-performance 12-channel DDR5 socket. There are then sixteen additional Intel Xeon 6700P processors in most of the listings online. The PK numbers are the ordering part numbers for Intel.

It looks like we are getting between 144MB and 336MB of cache in the new Intel Xeon 6700P series but base clock speeds in the 2-2.9GHz range depending on the SKU for the Xeon 6700P series.
Final Words
These listings are popping up everywhere online, and even on Intel.com. Of course, expect more on the new chips on STH when we can share details of the new series. It appears as though between this and Lenovo updating servers with Intel Xeon E 6300 series that Intel has a lot of new processors coming. We would not take the above as the official SKU list at this point, since it is just what is commonly being shown online. Also, we generally do not trust early pricing information and remember that Intel’s Xeon prices are usually designed to have discount/ rebate programs associated with them.
