Inspur EIS800E Half-Width Edge Server Internal Overview
Inside the system, we can see the front portion which is the base for a number of different configurations including fanless embedded designs, and the rear expansion module that we discussed in the external hardware overview.
The front of the system is where the primary functions are located including the CPU, memory, primary storage, management, wireless options, and more.
The Intel Atom C3758R is housed on a COMe module with two SODIMM slots.
Here is the module out of the system.
Here is a look at the system without the module installed. One can see the two headers for the module on the main motherboard.
Out-of-band management is provided by a SODIMM-like module that houses the ASPEED BMC. That replaceable module also makes it easy to remove the out-of-band management features or to use a different management module.
Next to the COM module with the Intel Atom CPU, one can see the two M.2 storage slots.
The M.2 SSDs have fairly elaborate heatsink and retention mechanisms. These can apparently also house M.2 AI accelerators for edge applications.
Something else you may have noticed from our overview is that there are a number of slots available for various wireless options.
Overall, this is a fairly interesting package. Here is the system’s topology:
Something you may notice here is that there is a 64GB eMMC storage device available. This is a platform that can use M.2 for primary storage and eMMC for boot as well.
Let us next cover management and performance quickly.
I love these articles about edge devices. Please keep them coming.
Here is the datasheet: (Inspur, why an image? I NEED text to search against!)

Also, to get pricing you need to contact them for a quote.
So this sounds more like an advertisement instead of a review.
Huawei is a Chinese company, and was kinda obliterated by the US government, what about Lenovo and Inspur?
Would they follow the same fate as Huawei?
I don’t get it. Anyone buying servers new is getting a quote since you don’t buy them on a website and order. I think they’ve said that’s why they don’t put prices in the server reviews
