The ASUS PN41-E1 is something a bit different. At STH, we have been looking at some of the corporate 1L PCs as part of Project TinyMiniMicro and some of the low-cost mini PCs from smaller vendors as part of the STH Mini PC series. The ASUS ExpertCenter PN64-E1 is a system that is somewhat in the middle. It is more of a system that we would typically cover in the STH Mini PC series, yet it is from a large vendor ASUS. Let us get to this system to see how that makes a difference.
ASUS ExpertCenter PN64-E1 Video
We have a video that covered this system as one of our three ASUS Mini PC video that you can find here.
The system is found in the video’s “ASUS ExpertCenter PN64-E1” chapter at 05:46. The video has three different systems, and this is one. As always, we suggest watching the video in its own browser, tab, or app for the best viewing experience.
ASUS ExpertCenter PN64-E1 External Hardware Overview
The front of the system has a power button and headset hack. The USB situation is very good with two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports. There is then a Thunderbolt 4 port on the front of the system.
On the side of the system, we have vents.
On the other side are more vents plus a Kensington lock point.
Since this is a PC designed for the commercial PC market rather than the consumer market, we get the ASUS Corporate Stable sticker.
On the rear, there is a lot of I/O. First, we get two HDMI ports with a third configurable port, which is a DisplayPort. Other options include things like a VGA port or even a 2.5GbE port. There is already one 2.5GbE port on the back of this system.
Here we get three USB Type-A ports. Two are 5Gbps Gen1 and one is a 10Gbps Gen2 port. There is also a second Thunderbolt 4 port.
Next, let us get inside the system to see how this is built.
