At STH, we cover a large number of embedded products with two reviews of embedded platforms just in the past week. At Embedded World 2019 a number of new AMD Ryzen V1000 and AMD EPYC 3000 platforms were on exhibit. In this article, we are going to do something a little different. We are going to chronicle the ecosystem by simply showing our readers what was on display. Specifically, we are going to highlight over 30 platforms found at the show that you readers may not have seen if they were not there. We covered the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 launch some time ago. This series combines Zen cores with Vega GPUs in an embedded form factor. For companies that want CPU plus GPU capabilities in a small package, this is an increasingly popular line.
Advantech AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
Advantech had three AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 products on display.
Advantech’s customers often require different form factors, and one can see these three options target different applications.
AEWIN AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
The AEWIN MB8395 targets the mITX market with a complete embedded PC solution.
STH readers may notice the CoolJag copper cooler which is a nice touch. We saw CoolJag produce solid embedded copper coolers in Copper cooling for the Supermicro X10SDV Xeon D motherboards.
ASRock AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
ASRock is also targeting the mITX PC market with the ASRock IMB-V1000.
Notably, the solution only requires 4-pin power. This appears designed for a DC power brick appliance.
AXIOMTEK AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
AXIOMTEK specializes in gaming platforms. Here, the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000 product has a particular aptitude given its Vega-based integrated graphics.
These form factors are designed for gaming machines and one can see the design direction the company took with them.
Congatech AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
Congatech had a COM Express Module Type 6 platform on display.
The company is promising a wide TDP range of 12W to 54W APUs in this form factor.
DFI AMD Ryzen V1000 Platforms at Embedded World 2019
DFI showed off two platforms based on the AMD Ryzen Embedded V100 platform. One was a standard mITX form factor, the other was a more specialized unit.
Here again, we see a company utilizing the V1000’s quad display capabilities.
