Passing along the press release from the Supermicro launch of its Intel Xeon E5-2600 V2 and E5-1600 V2 products. Certainly, as we expected we are seeing older LGA 2011 platforms updated for the new Ivy Bridge-E and Ivy Bridge-EP processors. Supermicro is launching a few new products at IDF this year at the same time to support the chips. Another interesting part of the Supermicro IDF13 launch in San Francisco are the new products being launched. Some examples are the MicroBlade with the 8-Core Intel Atom C2000 processors, and up to 112 nodes. Another key is the 12gbps SAS solutions. We will have more on those solutions tomorrow but suffice to say, 12gbps SAS 3 is going to be the standard in the near future in servers. Check back tomorrow for more on this. Below is the copy of the press release.
